ChromeBook 1:1 Program

1:1 Chromebook Initiative
Technology plays an important role in today's world.  More and more jobs require workers to use technology and communicate electronically.  Society is also relying more and more on technology (social media, email, text messages, etc. ) to communicate.  Incorporating technology into our curriculum in order to prepare students to navigate the digital demands of today and tomorrow is an important goal of St. Marys City Schools.  Our K-5 students have access to iPads, chromebooks, and desktop computers.   Our Middle School and High School are transitioning to a 1:1 program which will eventually provide every student in grades 6 - 12 with access to a chromebook.  We rolled out our 1:1 initiative in the 2018-2019 school year by providing each 6th and 9th grader with a chromebook.  We expanded the program in the 2019-2020 school year to include students in 6th, 7th, 9th, and 10th grades.  By the 2021 - 2022 school year, every student in grades  6 - 12 will be issued a chromebook as part of the district's 1:1 initiative.
