Annual State-Mandated Tests

 The list below reflects tests that St. Marys City Schools is required by the State of Ohio to administer annually.  For most assessments, a date range is given (usually decided by the State of Ohio).  Specific dates will be provided by individual schools and teachers. 

Grades K - 2: St. Marys East Primary School

• Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (grade K): Start of the school year - October 31st.

• Reading Diagnostic (Star Early Literacy for grade K and Star Reading for grades 1 and 2): Start of the school year - September 30th.

• IOWAs: Reading and Math (whole grade gifted screening- 2nd grade): October

• CogATs (whole grade gifted screening - 5th grade): October

Grades 3 - 5: St. Marys West Intermediate School

• Reading Diagnostic (Star Reading- required for grade 3 only): Start of the school year - September 30th.

• IOWAs: (whole grade gifted screening- 5th grade): October

• Creative Thinking Survey (whole grade gifted screening- 5th grade): November

• Ohio State Test (AIR): 3rd grade English Language Arts: 2 week window falling in late October/ early November

• Ohio State (AIR) Tests: 3rd, 4th, 5th grade English Language Arts: March/ April

• Ohio State (AIR) Tests: 3rd, 4th, 5th grade Math: April/ May

• Ohio State (AIR) Tests: 5th grade Science: April/ May

Grades 6 - 8: St. Marys Middle School

• Ohio State (AIR) Tests: 6th, 7th, 8th grade English Language Arts: March/ April

• Ohio State (AIR) Tests: 6th, 7th, 8th grade Math: April/ May

• Ohio State (AIR) Tests: 8th grade Science: April/ May

 Grades 9 - 12: St. Marys Memorial High School

• Ohio State (AIR) Tests: 10th grade English Language Arts: March/ April

• Ohio State (AIR) Tests: Algebra I: April/ May

• Ohio State (AIR) Tests: Geometry: April/ May (tentatively scheduled to be discontinued)

• Ohio State (AIR) Tests: Biology: April/ May

• Ohio State (AIR) Tests: American Government: April/ May

• ACT (11th grade): February/ March 

• Ohio State (AIR) Tests: American History: April/ May
