ELA/ Career Exploration Teacher

St. Marys City Schools is accepting applications for a High School ELA/ Career Exploration Teacher. (A 7-12 ELA license required. No additional licensure required for Career Exploration.)
Teaching Schedule (tentative):
3 periods of ELA II/10th-grade ELA (full-year course)
3 periods of Career Exploration (semester course; 6 sections over the course of the year), primarily 9th/10th graders
Career Exploration - This course is designed to prepare students for the important decisions ahead as they explore future careers and post-secondary pathways. Students will identify their interests, strengths, personality traits, and core values to better understand potential career directions. Using these personal insights, students will investigate academic programs, training opportunities, and career fields that align with their goals.
Throughout the semester, students will develop individualized action plans to guide their next steps beyond high school. They will also learn and practice essential job-search skills, including résumé writing, interviewing techniques, and professional networking. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the knowledge and confidence needed to make informed, meaningful choices about their futures.
