Wright State University Lake Campus is hosting a open house called Wright From the Start on Thursday, November 20th.
It will be conducted from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Student center. This is an opportunity for prospective students to not only talk with the Lake Campus faculty and staff, but all colleges from the main campus will be represented.
If you attend this open house, you can take all your completed application forms with you and your application fee will be
waived.
Wapakoneta High School is offering a special program to parets and students on Monday, November 24th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the high school. Van Wright, who is a admission counselor from BGSU, will present a program with practical informationa bout beginning the proces sof getting into college. Then, in the gym there with be a variety of college representatives to discuss career options, funding and location. If you are still looking and trying to come up with a post graduate college plan, this would be a great event to attend.
Senior Conferences in process! Counselors are meeting one on one with each senior to go over their post graduation plans and to answer questions, help research, and follow through with the student to be sure there is a solid plan in place. You will be called down sometime in October.....Remember, college applications should be submitted by Halloween.

Sylvan Learning Center is offering an ACT prep course to take before the ACT test. There are forms in the guidance office to register for the course. The cost is $600.00 for 30 hours of five 2 hour math/science lessons, five 2 hour English reading lessons andone 2 hour writing lesson, and two 4 hour diagnostics. More information in the Guidance Office. The classes are held in Wapakoneta and Celina.

It is recommended that Seniors heading off to college submitt your FAFSA information by February 15th. If you have not done so, please call or stop by the guidance office so that we can get you going on this very important step. Counselors will be meeting with you again in the Spring.

ACT is encouraging students to register for the ACT online. It allows the student to do it more quickly, and receive the admission ticket and test center more quickly. Go to http://www.act.org/ to do so. The Guidance Office has the paper packets and study guides as well for your use if you would prefer.

College Selection Process: If your post graduation path will be attending college, you will be filling out college applications this fall. Click on Ohio Colleges and Universities link below, which will present a list of colleges’ websites. You can also access this link to Ohio colleges and universities on the guidance office home page. Most websites have virtual tours, information about the campus and application process, as well as financial information. Applications can be done on most universities websites, but later in September we will have applications in the guidance office that you can fill out and mail in. The biggest thing to remember as you begin this process is to ask questions. Stop by the guidance office any time. If we do not know the answer, we can try to find out for you. Remember, if you don’t ask, we won’t know you need help!

If you have a unique situation, whether it be that you are a student-parent, have a multicultural background, or even if you are a first-generation college bound student, there might be resources available for you through this website to find programs to help you along the way. If you are interested in applying for a ROTC scholarship to help pay for college as well as serve your country, go to http://www.armyrotc.com to fill out an on-line application. The deadline for this application is December 1st. The Navy ROTC is looking for scholarship applicants. If you have an ACT score of 22 math/22 verbal or more and are interested in the Navy, apply online for the Navy ROTC scholarship at https://www.nrotc.navy.mil.

You do not have to have a scholarship for the NROTC to join, but would then be eligible for 2-3 year scholarships beyond your freshman year.

They often work on teams with teachers, school personnel and parents to assess, evaluate, and provide interventions for children with communication disorders. The course of study for this certification is a strong liberal arts focus on the undergraduate level with course work in linguistics, phonetics, anatomy, psychology, human development, biology, physiology and semantics.
