Freshman Information

Fall

Welcome to high school! Are you amazed that you are here? We just want to be sure you know that you are always welcome in the guidance office, to catch your breath, relax or discuss items that you need to talk about. High School is a very exciting, demanding, sometimes overwhelming experience, but if you take it slow, learn about all that is available, make good choices in activities, academic performance, friendships and time management, this can be one of the most rewarding times of your life. So, welcome, learn all that you can about what is offered at MHS, and enjoy!

Take time to check things out, spread your wings, join a club, get involved in the school around you.  If you have any questions about how to get involved with an organization at MHS, please stop by the guidance office – we will send you in the right direction.

Winter

It is time to buckle down! You are now adjusted to your classes, hopefully have gotten involved in some activities at MHS that suit your interests, and are feeling a part of MHS. Now, get your grades up, and start thinking about what you would like to do after you graduate. Consider what makes you happy, what interests you, how you like to spend your time, and let your imagination wander. This is the time to let go and pretend that you could do whatever you would want after graduation in a career or educational goal. Then, take the steps to make that happen. It is much better to maintain a good GPA, than to try to recover from a low one. Don't let your grades slip so that you are not in that situation.
