Pep Band

The 'Rider Pep Band is comprised of students on a voluntary basis, and performs for all boys and selected girls home basketball games, as well as possible community events.  During the past three years, performances have also occurred at The Ohio State University for Men’s and Women’s Basketball games.  In most years two bands are formed, the Blue Band and the Gold Band. Seniors are placed into both bands if desired, with underclass members placed in either the “blue” or “gold” bands to achieve the desired instrumentation.  Some other members may be placed in both groups in order to get a balanced sound.  Each pep band member will perform at four games, with both bands performing together at three additional games plus the potential OSU game.   Members will also perform at any pep rallies prior to any game they are scheduled to perform for.

The Pep Band rehearses on Tuesdays after school or evenings at the conclusion of Marching Band season, and before each home game.  Pep Band members will be asked to purchase a pep band shirt to wear at all performances.  This will be approximately $10-15 your cost.  This must be worn to all games as your uniform along with jeans.
